Payment Methods
- We accept FNB-to-FNB bank Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) payments.
- If you are transferring via EFT from a different bank, you are strongly required to use the Immediate Payment option.
- We accept ATM cash deposits.
- Cash deposits at bank branches are not accepted.
- Cash payments at our office are also not accepted.
- Payments must be made in the currency and method specified by SMS Travel.
- Failure to pay within the stipulated deadline may result in automatic cancellation.
- Additional bank or transaction charges are the responsibility of the traveller.
- Partial payments or deposits do not guarantee price protection unless specified in writing.
Important Note: Your booking will only be confirmed after we have received your full payment in our account. Any delays or incorrect payments may result in automatic cancellation of your booking, which might not be available for rebooking.
SMS Travel Booking Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings made with SMS Travel. By confirming a booking with us, you agree that you have read, understood, and accepted the following terms.
01. Our Role & Services
- SMS Travel acts as an intermediary between travellers and third-party service providers (airlines, hotels, transport companies, tour operators, insurance providers, etc.).
- We assist with travel planning, booking, issuing documents, and providing general advice.
- We do not own, operate, or control the services of third-party providers, and therefore cannot be held responsible for their performance, delays, cancellations, or errors.
02. Booking Process & Confirmation
- Bookings are only confirmed once full payment or the required deposit is received by the deadline given.
- Quotations are subject to availability and may change without prior notice due to exchange rates, taxes, airline surcharges, and supplier adjustments.
- If payment is not received on time, your booking may be cancelled and cancellation charges may apply.
- A booking reference number or confirmation voucher will be issued once full payment is received by the deadline given.
03. Cancellations, Amendments & Refunds
- All cancellations and amendments are subject to the terms of the third-party supplier. Cancellation fees, change penalties, and non-refundable charges may apply.
- Refunds, if applicable, will only be processed once received from the third-party supplier.
- SMS Travel charges an administration fee for processing cancellations, refunds, or changes.
- Refund timelines vary depending on the supplier and can take 8 weeks or longer, subject to third-party supplier terms and deductions.
04. Schedule Changes & Service Disruptions
- Airlines and service providers may reschedule, cancel, or amend confirmed bookings.
- It is your responsibility to contact SMS Travel at least 24 hours before the travel date to reconfirm your booking and check for updates.
- SMS Travel is not liable for costs arising from strikes, weather conditions, natural disasters, political events, or failure to reconfirm at least 24 hours prior to travel.
05. Travel Documentation & Visa Requirements
- Travellers are responsible for holding valid passports (minimum 6 months validity), visas, permits, health certificates, and entry requirements.
- SMS Travel provides guidance but is not responsible for denied boarding, refusal of entry, deportation, or fines arising from incomplete or invalid documentation.
06. Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation, medical emergencies, lost baggage, and delays. SMS Travel is not liable for expenses that adequate travel insurance would cover.
07. Health, Safety & Special Requests
Travellers must ensure they are medically fit and meet vaccination requirements. Dietary, mobility, or special requests must be communicated in advance and remain subject to supplier availability.
08. Liability & 09. Traveller Responsibilities
SMS Travel exercises care in selecting suppliers but is not liable for injury, illness, loss, damage, delay, or additional expense caused by third parties or events beyond our control. By booking, you agree to provide accurate passport details, comply with supplier and immigration rules, arrive on time, safeguard belongings, and settle any local taxes or excess baggage directly with suppliers.
10. Data Protection, 11. Force Majeure & 12. Governing Law
Personal information is collected solely for booking purposes and shared only with relevant travel suppliers. SMS Travel is not liable for force majeure events (including natural disasters, pandemics, government actions, or strikes). These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of South Africa and the jurisdiction of South African courts.
Privacy Policy
SMS Travel protects the privacy of all travellers who visit our office or website. We collect personal details relevant to your travel arrangements and share them only with airlines, hotels, car rental agencies, insurers, and tour operators needed to fulfil your bookings.
- Security: Confidential information transmitted over HTTPS is protected with SSL encryption.
- Marketing Opt-In: Promotional emails are sent only if you opt in, and you may unsubscribe at any time.
- No Sale of Data: SMS Travel does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
- Legal Disclosure: Information may be disclosed only if required by law or to protect safety and legal rights.
